Hoedown
Frequently Asked Questions about Hoedown
What is Hoedown?
Hoedown is JWE PTA's spring fundraiser.
When is Hoedown?
Hoedown is scheduled for SATURDAY, March 3, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 pm.
What is there to do at Hoedown?
Hoedown is a family event with dinner, basket raffles, silent and live auctions, bakery and games.
Do you have to eat dinner to come?
No, but do plan to come and enjoy the activities. We will have approximately 4 local food vendors to choose from if you would like to eat dinner.
What is the basket raffle?
Classes are assigned a theme, like Game Night for example. Parents donate NEW items to their child's class basket according to the class theme. Items are collected and then arranged into spectacular baskets. You choose which themed basket you would like a chance to win by putting tickets into the corresponding box. You will not need to be present to win one of the baskets, but it’s a lot of fun to be there!
How do I purchase tickets for baskets and games?
Prior to the event a Hoedown packet will be sent home. All the information on ordering tickets and game wrist bands will be included. Buying your tickets in advance will give you a small price break. Tickets will also be sold the night of the event. Watch for the packet to arrive in February.
Tell me about the Silent/Live Auction?
Items available for bidding are donated from our JWE parents, community friends and businesses and our very own teachers. In addition, each student in every classroom will work on a classroom art project to be placed for bid that evening…you will not want to miss them! A brochure with all auction items and sponsors will be sent home prior to the event. You must be present to pay for your auction item should you be the winning bidder or the next highest bidder will be designated as the winner.
Do I need a ticket for the admission to the event?
No, there is no admission charge. You will be able to purchase basket tickets and game wrist bands in advance as well as the night of Hoedown. Bakery and Silent auction will accept cash or check.
What is a Sponsor?
Sponsors are parents and local businesses that support our school and event with a monetary donation through our PTA Patrons Program.
